For running pylon based applications, the following environment variables must be exported:

• export PYLON_ROOT=/opt/pylon
• export GENICAM_ROOT_V1_1=/opt/pylon
• export GENICAM_CACHE=/tmp

The directory to which the GENICAM_CACHE variable is pointing must exist (mkdir $HOME/xml_cache).

The shared libraries provided by pylon are installed in the /opt/pylon/lib64    (64 bit Linux)
The pylon library folder must be added to the runtime linker's search path. This can be done by adding the folder to the /etc/ld.so.conf file. The /sbin/ldconfig command must be issued after modifying the /etc/ld.so.conf file. Root permissions are needed for ldconfig.

Alternatively, the runtime linker will find the libraries if the pylon library folder has been added to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.

• export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/pylon/lib64:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

!! Remove the also "libQtCore.so .. etc." from /opt/pylon/lib64
