This indicator depicts from one hand the influence of natural hazards on human settlings and, on the other hand, the number of people related to the topic.

However, as stated in Luthe (2009), fever people living in a mountain region can lead to environmental problems as a decrease in agriculture, silviculture activities and in more landslides.
