How to copy documents from my previous account to my EPFL account?

Due to technical problems as well as legal problems between the public version and education version, document transfers have to be made manually and within a copy. It is the reason why Google does not authorise owner modifications within different domains such as epfl.com and gmail.com.

As of today, the simplest solution we have found goes by the “copy fonction” and exists on Drive for desktop (either on Mac or PC). This procedure is actually very simple of use, and is well explained in the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88X1JNKFQVA. At the end of the process, all the selected documents are copied on the new Drive, with the new account being the main one. All the documents preserve their original formatting, Google documents included.

However, please be aware that a copy does not maintain all the access rights, nor the history of documents in Google formats. Hence, it would be wise to keep the original documents in a stored place if they are shared or if their history is of importance.
