Demonstration of positioning, trapping and release of a 500 nm dielectric particle in a 2D photonic crystal hollow cavity. The trap is a H2 cavity with a large 700 nm hole. Long time trapping is achieved with ≈100 µW.(2012)

Demo of a classical optical tweezers in the vicinity of a photonic crystal structure: A freely moving 500 nm bead in the vicinity of a photonic crystal optical resonator within a microfluidic environment is captured with an optical tweezer and brought on top of the photonic crystal cavity. The access waveguides for optical excition of the resonator can also be seen. (2010)
