Introduction to cohomological Hall algebras, by Ben Davison.

Abstract: The CoHAs of the title are as defined by Kontsevich and Soibelman, and have emerged as a very useful tool for the study of the representation theory of quiver algebras, which is the context I will work in.  In this talk I will give a relatively gentle introduction to the CoHA associated to a quiver with relations, and to the CoHA associated to a quiver with superpotential.  I will go from the definitions of basic operations on sheaves and equivariant compactly supported cohomology and work towards these two definitions of CoHAs, and if there is time, discuss a couple of structure results regarding them.
