Old Operating System: Symbian OS (software platform & UI : S60)

- Major (currently used) versions of S60: v3 FP1, v3FP2 & v5

New Operating System: Symbian Platform (this is also the software platform, UI is still S60 but should be replaced by QT)

- Symbian^1: this is S60 v5,  first version of Symbian platform

- Symbian^2: No phones

- Symbian^3: Nokia N8 announced

- Symbian^4: announced 2011, QT should replace S60 as UI
