We have two models that allow for the simulation of the macro-economic consequences of energy policies or of the development of macroeconomically relevant technologies. By coupling these models with a technology-rich bottom-up model (with merit order of electricity generation for instance), we are able to simulate policies relevant for relatively small segments of the energy market (supply or demand). In addition, we are used to assessing and comparing policy instruments, e.g. incentive taxes, subsidies, tradable permits, etc. Finally, we master the best available methods for estimating the value of buildings and for using such estimates to compare building maintenance or renovation strategies.

The structural glass research group at ICOM is specialized in the application of glass in buildings and facades. With respect to energy performance, we are interested in developing glass (façade) components with optimized environmental and structural performance. In addition, we can contribute to any topic related to glass, glass façades or solar glass applications. http://icom.epfl.ch/glass.
