• ontologically related concepts should not be considered as independent
  • this can affect proximity if the top / most frequent concepts are too generic e.g. incorrectly clustering 2 papers because they are linked by "cluster" when one paper actually discussed "cluster of galaxies"

concerns

• Expert users should add/confirm relations between concepts because they NEED them, not because they are asked nicely, paid, or compete for 'reputation points' as in Stackoverflow
• Need more use cases for people to want relations between concepts, i.e. when using knowledge about the relationship between them greatly improves some functionality
• The basis for crowdsourcing in this respect is automatisation. We need to be proficient at suggesting possible relations and then possibly asking users (non-invasively) to answer a question of "Is A related to B?" -- when they are bookmarking a paper.
