Local currents and asymptotic Plateau problems in metric spaces of nonpositive curvature Urs Lang, 29.11.2007, 11h15, MA 12 In 2000, Ambrosio-Kirchheim exposed a theory of finite mass currents in complete metric spaces. The first part of the talk sketches a variant of this theory that accommodates general currents, in particular currents with locally finite mass, in locally compact metric spaces. The second part describes some applications to the asymptotic geometry of spaces of nonpositive curvature, in analogy with well-known phenomena from hyperbolic geometry. |
