If you are doing a MSc in Mathematics, Ing Mathematics, or Statistics you can choose to do a minor.

• For CSE that is not possible
• For MSc in math pour l'Enseignement, that is not possible.

Minors are split into

• disciplinary minors: minor related to a master (e.g. Physic, Computer Science,...), focused on a single program, different from that of the student’s main Master’s program;
• interdisciplinary minors: focused on a given field and made up of topics from several programs, or even dedicated topics 

To register to a minor:

- it must be done before the end of the first semester of your master (if you start in September -> before end of February ; if you start in February -> before end of July)

- You need to fill the registration form and send the list of courses to the Section giving the minor

- You need to send the registration form and the list of courses to the Section of mathematics.

- You need to take at least 20 ECTS of master courses (= courses that are in a master program at EPFL). Depending on the minor, the remaining 10 ECTS may contain up to 2 courses of BA5-6 or one course of BA3-4 and one course of BA5-6.

Please inform us of your choice of courses quite early, so that we could give you our OK.

The Section of mathematics must approve of your choice of courses! Some minors offer courses that won't be accepted to math students.

Worst case senario: we take the course outside your minor and you loose the credits.
