Ibrahima Amadou Dia, a native from Senegal, received a Bachelor degree and a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Saint – Louis in Senegal. He also holds a Masters degree from the Graduate Institute of Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland (IUED currently Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies). Mr. Dia is currently a researcher at the Department of Sociology , University of Geneva.
M. Dia worked as scientific collaborator at the Laboratoire de Démographie at the University of Geneva on a project related to scientific diasporas in Switzerland. He has been an expert for international agencies (such as the International Labour Office and the International Organization for Migration) and national stakeholders on various aspects related to international migrations including skilled migrations. Apart from international migration, Mr. Dia has advised international agencies on issues related to gender equality, fundamental rights at work, informal economy, social protection and HIVAIDS. M. Dia has widely written on skilled international migrations issues and participated in several international conferences on this topic. He is a member of various international associations dealing on development studies and social sciences.
