Giessbach Hotel
Very nice luxury hotel from the same period as Faulhorn (1850): Giessbach Hotel (http://www.giessbach.ch/about-the-grandhotel.html)
- Luxury hotel at "reasonable" price for a luxury hotel... (approx. 300.- room for a couple)
- Two restaurants: one high end (150.- / person) and one "normal" (75.- / person). They offer vegetarian meal as well as normal meals.
- Best way to reach the hotel: boat from Interlaken, little train from lake side to hotel

Hike Schynige Platte, Faulhorn, Giessbach
If you like hikes, you can do:
- park at the official parking P&R of Interlaken Ost train station
- take first train to Wilderswil
- take second train (with rack system) to Schynige Platte

- hike up to Faulhorn Berghotel (approx. 5 hours, 700m elevation)
- eat and sleep in Faulhorn
- hike down to Giessbach hotel (approx. 7 hours, 2000m elevation downwards). Take the path to Axalp, probably better than the one that goes via Gstepf which is very challenging between Plangau and Schwand...).
- eat and sleep in Giessbach
- take the little train (with rack system) to the lake - oldest train of that kind in Europe
- take boat to Interlaken Ost
