18h30  « ETH alumni network for Swiss start-ups, the experience of A3-Angels at EPFL »

• Claude Florin (EPFL EL82) has 20 years of experience in launching new technology businesses in telecoms, biomedical, IT and entertainment business. Currenly he is Strategic Marketing Manager at Hewlett-Packard, President at Mobile Monday Switzerland and founder of A3 Angels. Presentation here.

A3 Angels entrepreneurial club was launched in 2009 to facilitate  networking with young entrepreneurs from EPFL or ETHZ with alumni.

• For entrepreneurs, A3 Angels provides a forum to get advice, partners, mentoring and limited seed money.
• EPFL alumni get an ethical and social process to provide mentoring or invest as friends.

2009 activities :

• 250 alumni participants met with 50 start-ups who submited projects on-line
• 25 members dedicated more activity to mentor 5 start-ups and invest in 3 projets
• 1 workshop with MIT venture mentoring service

Some ideas for 2010

• Expand membership to alumni abroad
• Help entrepreneurs network abroad
