Display server

The display server enables the local treatment of visualization data and their display on the main screens and control monitor. It also provides the possibility for presentations using e.g. PowerPoint or Adobe Acrobat.

This server can be directly accessed from within the CoViz room (MXC320) and does not require the creation of a user account.

Displaying images & animations

A variety of software is installed on the display server to provide flexibility in the presentation of images and movies that, in general, are high resolution and/or stereoscopic. The optimal choice will depend on the user's particular needs. Of particular use are:

• Stereoscopic player
• Bino
• IrfanView
• QuickTime 7 Pro

PowerPoint presentations

Presentations can be made either by:

• accessing files (e.g. on a memory stick) by the server
• connecting an external laptop
