 Idea crafting

The first step in experience design is based on free flowing creativity. With the help of connected mind maps, group discussions, and initial research of the topics, one will learn to produce ideas and make a selection of the better ones. This part covers the general setting up of the universe.

Idea development

In a second phase, one must design the universe by developing rules and setting limits that allow content to be produced. Here, one will work on the design cycle (design, prototype, test) and push the project in the right direction. Through each iteration of the project, one re-evaluates the various aspects such as visual language, main interactions, main parts of the experience… and adds, removes, or adjusts these elements to improve the experience.

Idea production

The last step is to produce a working prototype. This prototype need not be advanced, but it must be compelling and intelligently thought out by answering to the questions: why, what, and how. It must have sense, clarity, and entice the user in playing with it without feeling disinterested, overwhelmed, or lost.
