Contra-indications to vaccination

Contra-indications to vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).

version française

All healthy children can take the MMR vaccine.  In cases of slight illness, vaccination should simply be postponed by 1-2 weeks.  Vaccination should be avoided on pregnant women, immuno-deficient patients or those undergoing immunosuppressive treatment (particularly cortisone).  The second dose of the vaccine is contra-indicated for individuals (approximately 1 in a million) who had a strong allergic reaction to the first dose.  If in doubt please talk to your doctor.
